Garrison Command of Prague

The Garrison Command of Prague is the authority responsible for securing the garrison service in the Capital City of the Czech Republic, all-garrison events with military participation and the coordination in the field of public affairs.

The Command contributes to protocol activities of the President of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government in general, namely by public presentations of the Honour Guard of Czech Armed Forces (CAF).

The Garrison Command coordinates activities of military units and installations based within the Prague Garrison including the housing of their personnel both in Prague and in adjacent municipalities.

The Garrison Command of Prague cooperates with elements of the Integrated Rescue System of the Czech Republic, with the City Hall of Prague and Offices of the City's Districts.

Responding to requirements of the CAF, the Command develops expert research for the Chief of the General Staff of CAF and the CAF Command on human resources available, and it is an adviser on human rights issues as well as in the area of protected interests of the Czech military personnel.

It controls the Music Service of CAF and the Honour Guard of the CAF. It bears the honour title, the unit of the "Prague Uprising".

The Prague Garrison is formed by military units and installations based permanently or temporarily on the territory of Prague.

The Honour Guard of the ACR

The Commander of the Garrison directly reports to the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of CAF.
