17.10.2016 •The 31st Regiment of Radiological, Chemical and Biological Protection, based in Liberec, last week received a specially manufactured mobile laboratory with cutting edge technologies. The laboratory was funded by the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) and delivered by Brigadier General Dawne Deskins, its Deputy Commander, as part of a project to support the capabilities of foreign armed forces. The laboratory cost CZK 160 million.

4.10.2016 •At the coordination exercise, Sky Soldier II, held from 26th–30th September at Ralsko-Hradcany area, Czech and American airborne troops carried out several air drops and, conducting “close air support”, “took back” the airfield, facilities and the adjacent area occupied by the “enemy”.

23.9.2016 •The meeting, held in the House of the Army in Prague on 22nd September, confirmed above-standard relations in defence attitudes between representatives of Czech Ministry of Defence and the U.S. Department of Defense.

20.9.2016 •The Polish Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Grazyna Bernatowicz, and the Polish Defence Attaché to the Czech Republic, Colonel Jacek Stec, presented awards to two Czech officers last week on behalf of the Polish President.

14.9.2016 •The international exercise, ‘Ample Strike 2016', being hosted in the Czech Republic from 30th August - 20th September 2016, encompasses a broad spectrum of scenarios aimed at enhancing the coordination capabilities of aircraft crews and ground forces.

6.9.2016 •Lieutenant General Carsten Jacobson, Deputy Commander of the Bundeswehr Army, accepted an invitation to visit the troops and headquarters of the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade in Zatec which, together with Major General Jan Gurnik, Commander of the Czech Land Forces, took place on 2nd September.

30.8.2016 •More than 25 thousand visitors marvelled at tanks and other equipment displayed at the Military History Institute’s 14th Tank Day exhibition and military parade held at the Technical Museum in Lesany on 27th August.

24.8.2016 •The Chief of the General Staff General Josef Becvar opened an exhibition last week entitled ‘Women in the battlefields and at the rear‘ dedicated to Czech heroines in uniform.

1.8.2016 •For the past two weeks a unit from the 25th Air Defence Missile Regiment has been preparing for the Tactical Evaluation certificate in order to be fully operational for deployment within the NATO Response Force and EU Battle Group.

26.7.2016 •The joint training exercise, Avenger CAS, of the Czech Air Force and American National Guard being held in the Czech Republic from 10th - 30th July greatly enhances the proficiency and coordination of forward air controllers, air crew and flight controllers, as well as increasing the efficiency of aerial refuelling during missions.

17.7.2016 •The Czech Republic will be chairing the National Reserve Forces Committee (NRFC) for the next two years. The ceremony marking the handover was held in Paris on 13 July 2016 with the participation of the representatives of the Armed Forces of NATO members and its partners.
