31.8.2015 •On 31 August, the Czech government agreed on the transit of troops and equipment of the US 2nd Cavalry Regiment from their base in Vilseck, Germany, through the Czech Republic to Hungary where they will participate in the NATO Brave Warrior 2015 exercise.

17.8.2015 •The life-sized replica of the Mk. IX Spitfire is being displayed at Prague Castle Square to commemorate 70 years since the return of the Czechoslovak Royal Air Force airmen to their homeland.

28.7.2015 •On 23rd July, Minister of Defence Martin Stropnicky welcomed to the Czech Republic the Minister of Defence of Georgia, Ms. Tinatin Khidasheli, along with the Georgian ministerial delegation.

20.7.2015 •Seven Ukrainian adults and two children arrived in the Czech Republic last week to receive follow-up treatment in Czech hospitals, three in Prague and one in Ostrava. The Czech Ministry of Interior, working in close cooperation with the ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs and Health, continues with the medical evacuation programme (MEDEVAC).

15.7.2015 •The Italian city of Viterbo recently hosted a two-week international coordination exercise, held under the auspices of the European Defence Agency. Helicopter crews, forward air controllers, and ground personnel from ten countries, in a joint exercise, demonstrated their skills in the support, planning and execution of mission flights.

6.7.2015 •The winners of the literary contest organised by the Communication Department of the MoD, and based on the 70th Anniversary of the liberation of Czechoslovakia, met at the Ministry of Defence to receive their diplomas from the Deputy Minister, Alena Netolicka.

4.7.2015 •According to a French adage „cherchez le femme“, it is necessary to look for a woman behind everything. In military environment, it could be easily paraphrased as look for logisticians behind everything. This fact is not different also during the international exercise of ground-based air defence units called Tobruq Legacy 2015 which was held from the last week in the Boletice military area in the region of Cesky Krumlov.

26.6.2015 •General Knud Bartels bid farewell to NATO’s Military Committee on Friday (26 June 2015), leaving his position as Chairman after a term of three and a half years. General Bartels is succeeded as the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee by General Petr Pavel, previously the Chief of Defence of the Czech Republic.

22.6.2015 •On Monday 22nd June, an international exercise of ground-based air defence units, Tobruq Legacy 2015, begins at the Boletice military area in Cesky Krumlov. In addition to Czech soldiers, members of the armed forces of Lithuania, Hungary, Slovakia and the United States of America will also participate.

12.6.2015 •Czech soldiers from the 43rd Airborne Battalion, 2nd Company, prepare their vehicles in a staging area enroute to the Pardubice Airfield in Chrudim, Czech Republic, during the Exercise Noble Jump alert phase in April. Noble Jump marks the first time that high-readiness units have physically tested their response to rapid ‘orders to move’ under the new VJTF Framework.
