4th Brigade Task Force exercise in the Czech Republic.

Largest land forces exerecise with close air support, CREVAL of two battalions of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade

Goal: Test readiness of 4th Brigade Task Force units, certify 41st Mechanised Battalion and 43rd Airborne and Mechanised Battalion in capabilities performance according the CREVAL NATO method programme.

Place: Air Force Base at Namest, Military Training Areas at Libava and Boletice, and areas close to towns of Bechyne a Prerov. NATO aircraft use air space over six regions of the Czech Republic.

Size: more than 1900 soldiers.

Equipment: more than 600 pieces of land and air equipment.

Time: October 7 - 18, 2013.

Participation: units of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade and other 15 headquarters and units of the Czech military.

Director: Colonel Miroslav Hlavac, Commander of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade, CREVAL was inspected by officials from the Allied Land Forces HQ in Izmir, Turkey.

NATO air exercise in the Czech Republic.

Advanced training opportunity to exercise close air support and forward air controllers' capabilities.

Goal: Retain and upgrade readiness of the NATO air force in support of ground operations, training for ISAF in Afghanistan, and any assymetric thread.

Place: Air Force Base at Namest, Military Training Areas at Libava and Boletice, and areas close to towns of Bechyne a Prerov. NATO aircraft use air space over six regions of the Czech Republic.

Size: more than 1400 soldiers.

Equipment: air assets from 20 NATO nations.

Time: September 2 - 20, 2013.

Participation: Czech Republic, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
