Medical Off-road Vehicle LAND ROVER 130
This is a special vehicle designed for medical evacuation, which replaces the older UAZ-452 vehicle used in medical service units of the Czech military.
The medical mounting on the chassis of LAND ROVER DEFENDER 130 TDi SINGLE CAB is manufactured by MEDTEC – Military Repair and Maintenance Corporation in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, while the special equipment was designed by the Research Institute of the Military Medical Service in Hostivice, Czech Republic.
The vehicle contains the automatic breathing system Oxylog, accumulator-driven first-aid instruments, the hand operated recovery tool VRVN 1-220 for piercing and cutting of vehicle bodies, and an electrical capstan. Units of the Czech military in SFOR operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been equipped with two prototypes of this vehicle since 1998; the vehicle also served in the 6th Field Hospital of the Czech military in AFOR operation in Albania. This type of medical off-road vehicle is being introduced into those medical facilities which provide direct support for soldiers in life field training.
