The article deals with the author’s participation in the accomplishment of special tasks of VTOPU photogrammetric department in the period 1958–1963. Simultaneously it documents a wide range of tasks and the significant participation of the VTOPÚ photogrammetric department in the support of the national economy.

 

MIKLOŠÍK, František. A participation in the organizational and technical support of VTOPÚ tasks in the period 1963–1965. Vojenský geografický obzor, 54, 2011, no. 2, p. 8–10.

The article deals with the author’s participation in the organizational and technical support of the national mapping at the scale 1:10,000, taking of aerial photos and geodetic survey on state borders (special VTOPÚ tasks altogether). The author was in the position of an organizational-technical officer of the General Staff Topographic department in the period 1963–1965.

 

KAMARÁD, Stanislav. Memories of the personal participation in the topographic mapping of Slovakia at the scale 1:25,000 in the period 1956–1957. Vojenský geografický obzor, 54, 2011, no. 2, p. 11–17.

The article is the author‘s remembrance of the period, when he participated in the mapping of Slovakia in the period 1956–1957. It deals with difficulties during geodetic survey in complicated mountain terrain, shortly describes surveying technologies, methods, parameters and technical equipment used at this period and also informs about the composition of the surveyor‘s group.

 

DUŠÁTKO, Drahomír. Geodesy and geodetic tasks in the geographic service of the Czechoslovak and the Czech Army – in the view of 90 years tradition. Vojenský geografický obzor, 54, 2011, no. 2, p. 18–36.

Geodesy is one of the basic surveying branches and it is also the same in the field of surveying for the state defence. The article gives a brief summary of the geodetic development and tasks accomplished during more than ninety-years of the military geographic service existence.

DUŠÁTKO, Drahomír. Classification of aerial photos in the Lubovnianska basin. Vojenský geografický obzor, 54, 2011, no. 2, p. 37–40.

The article is the author‘s remembrance of the period, when he became a member of the military geographic service and a regular soldier. During this period there was doing the national mapping at the scale 1:25,000. He cooperated at classification of aerial photos from the Slovak territory in the year 1956. The article describes briefly the using of surveying technologies and deals with drawing, what is the author’s hobby.

KÖHLER, Vlastimil. A memory of first conscripts-surveyors who joined the 2nd Military Geographical Institute from 15th May 1951 to July 1952. Vojenský geografický obzor, 54, 2011, no. 2, p. 41–43.

In the article the author tells the story of first soldiers of 2nd Military Geographic Institute in Dobruška from 15th May 1951 to July 1952. He gives information about soldiers´ selection, their tasks and their free-time activities.

BŘOUŠEK, Luděk. Six decennium of the military surveying in Dobruška (...and something in addition). Vojenský geografický obzor, 54, 2011, no. 2. Appendix. 169 p.

In the year 2011 the present Military Geographic and Hydrometeorologic Office celebrates its 60th establishment anniversary and the garrison in the town Dobruška reminds of its 75th establishment anniversary. The publication provides with well-ordered information about main turning points of the military presence in the town Dobruška (political and military aspects of the garrison establishment in the thirties of the last century, events during and after the Second World War, coming of surveyors and 60 years of their activities in Dobruška). The publication pays attention especially to the military-technical development and activities of the present Office in its modern history, including its new activities in the area of the military hydrometeorology.
