3rd ACR Unit - ISAF HELI UNIT, Paktika Province, Afghanistan

Czech ISAF HELI UNIT in Paktika

The Czech 3rd ACR Unit serves in Paktika Province as the Task Force HIPPO and is part of the American helicopter Task Force FALCON. The units fulfil transportation tasks and observation missions in favour of commander of the ISAF Regional Command East.

Size of the Contingent: 97 personnel, including 20 flying personnel.

Major equipment: three upgraded Mil Mi-171S helicopters.

The commander of the unit assumed operational task on 1st August 2010 to serve with his staff at Paktika for three months.

The Contingent is located at the US Forward Operation Base Sharana in the Paktika Province.
