The Corps and Land Forces Commanders´ Conference

On 7th and 8th October 2003 the NATO member states´ Corps and Land Forces Commanders´ Conference took place in Prague.

The Czech Republic at the conference was represented by the Czech Republic Army Land Forces´ Commander Major General Josef Sedlak.

The participants of the conference disussed topics that came out of the last year´s NATO summit held in Prague, especially the building of NATO Response Force and progress made by member states of the Alliance in fulfilments of their obligations in this area. Another topic of the conference was the future shape of NATO after enlargement of the Alliance and command structure´s reform relating to that. Furthermore, the attending generals were informed about the course of new NATO members´ integration, situation in ISAF operation in Afghanistan, which recently came under NATO command, and excercises planned for 2004.

The chairman of the conference Lieutenant General Colby M. Broadwater on behalf of conference participants expressed thanks to people of the Czech Republic for their hospitality and support, which was given to this event and its organisers.
