Multinational NATO and partner countries exercise of land, air and naval forces - TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2015.

Command Post: Zaragoza, Spain.

Scenario: Crisis management outside NATO member countries.

Area: Sixteen locations and areas in and over Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Time: 3 October - 16 November 2015.

Size of Exercise: about 36 thousand soldiers.

Czech Participation: more than 250 soldiers of land, air and special forces, experts from the NATO CBRN Centre of Excellence based in Vyskov.

Equipment: Czechs employ four Mil Mi-171S helicopters and six L-159 ALCA close air support combat aircraft; and ground and support equipment.

AMPLE STRIKE 2015    -    31 August - 22 September 2015


Allied tactical air exercise of 19 NATO and partner countries - AMPLE STRIKE 2015.

Command Post: 22 Helicopter Base at Namest nad Oslavou, Czech Republic.

Goal: Enhance cooperation and coordination of tactical air force pilots with forward air controllers in close air support.

Area: At and over Namest and Caslav air bases, and Boletice and Libava military training areas, Czech Republic.

Time: 31 August - 22 September 2015 - LIVE FLIGHTS between 7 - 18 September 2015.

Size of exercise: about 1,200 participants, out of which some 300 foreign ones.

Countries: Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the U.S.A., and two partner countries - Austria and Switzerland.

Equipment: up to 26 aircraft and 50 pieces of ground equipment.

Allied tactical exercise of eight NATO countries - ALLIED SPIRIT II (AS II 15).

Goal: Enhance readiness of participating units and demonstrate capability of allied and partner units in execution of a joint ground operation.

Size of exercise: more than 4,500 participants

Air defence exercise of five NATO nations TOBRUQ LEGACY 2015 (TL15).

HQ: in the Military Training Area at Boletice, south Bohemia

Goal: Demonstrate capabilities and interoperability of NATO nations in collective air defence with live fires of four nations on air objects.

Place: Military Training Area at Boletice

Time: 22nd June - 4th July 2015

Personnel size: Almost 500 air defence ground personnel

Participation: Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia, and the United States of America

Equipment: Portable air defence missile systems of very short range RBS-70, IGLA, MISTRAL

Goal: Test NATO’s high readiness troops under battlefield conditions.

Place: Military Training Area at Zagan, western Poland

Time: 9th - 19th June 2015.

Personnel size: Over 2,100 troops.

Equipment: Full range of tactical air and ground assault and defence equipment.

Participation: Nine NATO countries.

Czech contribution: Company Task Force of 150 troops and 50 vehicles from 43rd Airborne Battalion, based at Chrudim.

VIGOROUS WARRIOR    -    1st - 12th June 2015


International Medical Exercise VW15.

HQ: Military Medical Agency, Hradec Kralové, CZ.

Goal: Test capabilties of medical personnel of allied partners in a fictious deployment of international field hospital and other medical elements in environment with a high risk of biological for population, including reaction to a leakage of dangerous biological agent.

Place: New Barracks in Hradec Kralove

Time: 1st - 12th June 2015.

Personnel size: 350 trainees, out of which some 150 foreign participants.

Participation: Medical teams from 15 allied countries, under the auspice of Budapest's NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine - MILMED COE.

Equipment: Hospital corridor of the 7th Field Hospital and medical equipment of participating countries.

CAPABLE LOGISTICIAN 2015    -    1 - 26 June 2015

International logistic standardisation and interoperability exercise held in Hungary and directed by MLCC, Prague, Czech Republic.

Command Post: Bakony Combat Training Centre, Hungary.

Aim: Make the coordination and interoperability among logistic command posts more effective in providing equipment and services for combat units, including overall support to units deployed on foreign operations. , whose home base is Strakonice, Czech Republic.

Place: Bakony Combat Training Centre, Hungary.

Time: 1st - 26th June, 2015.

Size: More than 1,700 personnel.

Participation: Logistic experts and logistic support operators from 26 countries and 11 international organisations and agencies both from NATO and outside this alliance. Representatives of civilian companies working in the field of renewable and environmental sources of engergy ("Smart Energy") also take part in the exercise CL15.

Equipment: Up to 600 pieces of equipment.

LION EFFORT    -    11 - 24 May 2015


Air exercise of countries whose air forces operate SAAB 39 Gripen supersonics (GUG - Gripen Users Group).

Command Post: 21st Tactical Air Force Base in Caslav, Czech Republic.

Aim: Improve coordination among pilots of supersonics in air manoeuvres, air-to-air strikes and support of ground units with close air support operations. The exercise includes morning flights called Composite Air Operations - COMAO and afternoon or evening flights called SHADOW wave. The ground defence against hostile aircraft is at the Caslav Base simulated by units of the 25th Air Defence Missile Regiment, whose home base is Strakonice, Czech Republic.

Place: Almost all over the whole territory of the Czech Republic.

Time: 11th - 24th May, 2015, COMAO missions in the morning and SHADOW wave missions in the afternoon.

Size: More than 500 air personnel, including some 200 foreign participants.

Participation: Personnel of the Gripen Users Group with SAAB 39 Gripen (Czech Republic, Hungary, Sweden, Thailand), and NATO member countries with other air and ground equipment (Czech Republic, Germany, Poland).

Equipment: Up to 30 planes and helicopters, several dozens of ground equipment pieces.
