While the task of the 1st Czech unit was to guard the EU TM Headquarters in the capital of Bamako in cooperation with Malian and French soldiers, the 2nd and the 3rd unit enlarged their activities also to training of Malian soldiers.

The 3rd Czech EU TM unit in size of 38 soldiers moved to Bamako between 3 - 13 March 2014.

Czech soldiers closely cooperated with French and Mailan soldiers. Four Czech instructors have continued in training of Malian soldiers at the Koulikoro Base (some 50 km of Bamako).

The Czech participation in the mission was planned for 15 months and the size of the unit can be increased up to 50 soldiers. Even though the guard mission remained the primary one, soldiers escorted journeys of persons out of the Bamako HQ Base, and convoys of EU TM mission transports as well. According to Czech authorities, the ACR should send its personnel to the mission also in future.
