Winners of "Miss of Children's Homes" will spend a weekend at Merin
Lieutenant General Petr Pavel, Chief of the General Staff of ACR, as a "Miss" jury member, handed over vouchers to winners of the contest for a weekend stay at the Military Hotel Merin.
The eleven-member jury of the “Miss of Children’s Homes“ sat down at the Strakonice Community Centre to choose and decide who are the most beautiful and clever girls who live in Children’s Homes elsewhere in the Czech Republic.
The Czech military supports this event for eight years, and Chief of the General Staff General Pavel had decided to continue in the tradition and accepted the role of a jury member. Not only because the Children’s Home at Volyne, South Bohemia, is a long-year partner of the Czech military in the so called „Centipede Movement“ which substantially helps Czech soldiers deployed abroad with its projects aimed at support of a rather civilian contact with children and people in country of a local conflict.
That was also because almost all his predecesors have taken part in the “Miss of Children’s Homes“ contests. “It was a very new role for me but I deeply admire all the contestants and I was very impressed by the event,“ General Pavel says.
At the end of the contest, General Pavel handed over vouchers for a weekend stay at the Military Hotel Merin, which is one of hotels administred by the Military Spa and Recreation Facilities of the Czech military (VOLAREZA = volareza.cz).
Among others, the jury included Czech Miss 2013 Gabriela Kratochvilova, Mayor of Volyne Vaclav Valhoda, and the "Lady Dermacol" Olga Knoblochova, founder of the Czech cosmetic brand "Dermacol".
