Test fires of air defence

Kite balloons represent targets for air defence portable RBS-70 equipment in test fires of personnel from the 25th Air Defence Missile Brigade from Strakonice.

The military training area at Boletice, anti-tank firing ground at Javori, became a scene for test fires for the 1st and the 2nd battery of 252nd Air Defence Missile Battalion, Strakonice ADM Brigade.

For the test fires, held on Tuesday 12 April 2011, commander of the 25th Air Defence Missile Brigade Colonel Vladimir Barca invited a number of guests, representatives of engaged companies and military experts, to demonstrate skills and mastership of his personnel.

The metal coated meteo kite balloons in a distance of some 2,600 to 2,800 metres and in height of 10 to 25 metres disappeared one after another from the horizon when crews found, identified their targets and released the trigger.

Each crew reported: “The target hit, consumption one.”

The test fires were a hundred per cent successful and guests appreciated the Strakonice air defence men rank among the best in their speciality.
