The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic is launching a project to sell one of its premises located in Prague.
The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic is launching a project to sell the premises titled Praha – kasárna J. Žižky z Trocnova, k. ú. Karlín, obec Praha, okres Hlavní město Praha (J. Žižka z Trocnova Camp, city quarter: Karlín, Prague, district: the Capital City of Prague), through a bidding process aimed at finding suitable candidates for the purchase and then selecting an appropriate buyer to purchase the assets, which have been designated as redundant to the state administration, to be up and running in June 2014.
The premises “Kasárna J. Žižky z Trocnova” are located in Prague 8 – Karlín within the vicinity of Florenc Bus Station and close to the Florenc subway stop. It is a unique enclosed area that includes a spacious yard of approximately 1 hectare in size and is situated among the streets Vítkova, Křížíkova and Prvního pluku. The main five-storey building originally known as “Ferdinandova kasárna” (Ferdinand´s Camp) was constructed between 1844 and 1845 and is recorded on the list of culturally significant monuments. In accordance with the hitherto effective Capital City of Prague Municipal Plan, the premises are still registered as lands for accommodating structures and facilities for security and armed forces. However, after completing the purchase and transfer of ownership, the new owner is entitled to request an amendment of the aforementioned Municipal Plan.
