New management and command structure of Armed Forces of the Czech Republic as of 1 July 2013

Based on the White Paper on Defence issued 2011 and requirements for effective management and command of Czech military units, the two operational tactical headquarters - Joint Forces at Olomouc and Support Forces at Stara Boleslav - are dismantled as of 30 June 2013 and their command structures are being incorporated into the General Staff of ACR in Prague.

The move has brought organisational changes in majority of General Staff Divisions thus they assume, besides their management and control duties, also the command ones.

Names of several former Divisions of the General Staff change to Agencies with large redistribution of competences within them, including names of their directors/commanders/chiefs, and/or handling of material and reestablishing communication lines.

The process of the reorganisation is planned to last over this July and August and this web will reflect changes as they occur with respective updating of the page.

The Editorial Office of this website requests visitors to direct their immediate questions to phone numbers or email addresses to specific parts of interest at the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Czech Republic to the Public Information Office of the General Staff at kangs@army.cz or to the Press Section of MoD at info@army.cz if necessary.

The gradual reorganisation will ensure continuous control and command of the Czech troops with no impact on NATO, EU and other international obligations and domestic functions of the armed forces.
