Autor: Nuala Casey, Oldrich Holecek

The 12th annual Tank Day, which will be held on Saturday, 30th August, at the Military Technical Museum at Lesany, will present an exhibition and demonstration of armoured vehicles and other equipment from World War II and present time.

Come and see the tanks, armoured vehicles and other military equipment, which were used in Western and Easter Fronts, taking part in dynamic displays and military reenactments. The demonstrations will focus on the D-Day Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord, and the Battle of the Dukla Pass where, during WWII in 1944, the Czechoslovak 1st Army Corps, part of the Soviet Red Army, crossed into the state border of former Czechoslovakia and began to liberate the country.
