IDET Fair attracts large numbers
The IDET (International Defence and Security Technologies Fair), which took place at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 19th - 21st May, presented defence technology from around 30 countries to military representatives, businessmen, and the public.
The Minister of Defence Martin Stropnicky, in his speech to the exhibitors and guests at the opening ceremony of IDET at the Exhibition Centre of the BVV Trade Fair Brno on 19th May, said:”The IDET is one of the largest and most successful export platforms of the Czech defence and security industry, and has been growing steadily since its inception. It is viewed on a European scale as an important and highly specialised event which consistently draws large numbers of visitors. Its exclusiveness comes from the fact that every other year the fair alternates with the prestigious European exhibition, EUROSATORY, in Paris which presents the largest number of defence and security technologies from NATO's new member countries.”
Deputy Defence Minister Tomas Kuchta also commented on the importance of the IDET Fair: “We succeed in gaining the attention and interest of our partners from Europe and the rest of the world. The Czech Ministry of Defence attaches great importance to the IDET Fair as it allows us the opportunity to present our visions, as well as our commitment for a strong alliance and mutual support.”
The exhibitors demonstrated their equipment with both static and dynamic presentations and displayed products from respective manufacturers and countries. Military and civilian professionals also attended the various conferences which were featured at the fair. A conference on the European Defence Agency was, for the first time, also included in this year's IDET fair.
