General Becvar meets with military attachés accredited to the Czech Republic
The traditional pre-Christmas meeting between Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Josef Becvar and the Attachés of Defence, and the Air and Military Attachés accredited to the Czech Republic was held at the Hotel DAP, the House of the Army in Prague, on 3rd December.
"I thank you all for attending this meeting. It is very important for us to meet, speak to each other, and share our knowledge and experiences. Your work as military attachés contributes to the existing mutual understanding between our countries, and ensures the continuation of feelings of confidence among our nations. I strongly believe that we have been good hosts to you, and have also dealt with any queries or issues you may have had," General Becvar told his audience, and went on to wish everyone a happy and peaceful holiday and best wishes for the New Year.
On behalf of all the military attachés present at the meeting, Brigadier General Sameh Ibrahim, President of the Association of Military Attachés, thanked the Czech party for their cooperation. "We highly appreciate your open-minded approach and the high quality of the programme you prepared for us this year, including the visits to various military bases," said General Ibrahim.
The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant General Jiri Baloun, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Colonel Gabriel Kovacs, Director of the Foreign Activities Directorate, and other Czech officers.
The opening speeches were followed by an informal get-together of the visitors and army representatives.
