General Pavel STEFKA
Chief of the General Staff of ACR
In 1973, he became an officer of the Czechoslovak People's Army. He was in command positions in units and staffs of the Eastern Military District. During 1991 and 1994 was a university teacher at the Military Academy in Brno, later, he commanded 6th Mechanised Brigade in Brno, followed by higher positions at the Land Forces Command in Olomouc. During 2000 and 2002, he was Chief of Operations Division of the General Staff of ACR. During his period as the Chief of the General Staff of ACR, the Czech military has become fully professional and the armed forces reached their full operational capabilities by 31 December 2006.
