General Jiri SEDIVY
Chief of the General Staff of ACR
In 1975 he became officer of the Czechoslovak People's Army. He served at command positions at tank and airborne units. Commanded the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade. In 1996, he commanded a contingent of ACR in IFOR multinational operation. Later, he commanded Czech Land Forces. During his period as Chief of the General Staff of ACR the Czech Republic became a NATO member. By its active participation in multinational peace operations, the Czech Republic increased its respect both home and abroad. The General Staff, in this period, has developped the Vision of Build-up and Development of ACR in 21st Century.
