Lieutenant General Anton SLIMAK
Chief of the General Staff of CSPA
In 1962, he became an officer of the Czechoslovak People's Army. He served in command and staff positions and later worked with the Military Intelligence Service. In the post of Chief of the General Staff of CSPA - 1st Deputy Minister of National Defence, he contributed to development of the Conception of Czechoslovak Army Build-up. He started with proportional location of military units over the whole territory of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. A Czechoslovak chemical protection unit was deployed on Desert Storm operation. In 1993, he left to serve with the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.
