Colonel General Miloslav BLAHNIK
Chief of the General Staff of the Czechoslovak People's Army
In 1950, he became an officer of the Czechoslovak Army. At the beginning of the 1970s, he served as Chief of Staff and Commander of an army corps. In the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Czechoslovak People's Army - 1st Deputy Minister of National Defence comtributed to improvement of operational planning and training of troops and a significant modernisation of the military, including information technology. From 1987, he served at the Staff of Joint Armed Forces of Warsaw Pact members. He retired in 1990.
