Division General Eugéne Desiré Antoine MITTELHAUSER
Chief of the Supreme Staff of the Czechoslovak Defence Force
In 1894, he became an officer of the French Army. During WWI, he fought at the Western Front, he commanded a regiment, brigade and a division. During 1919 and 1921 he was Chief of Staff of the French Military Mission to Czechoslovakia. From January 1921, he headed the Mission and at the same time was Chief of the Supreme Staff of the Czechoslovak Defence Force. In his position, he contributed to integration of foreign and home units of the Czechoslovak Army, and to development of military education system.
